It took me years to realize why I was doing the things I was doing and what was truly fuelling my actions. Passion and motivation are like hidden treasures buried beneath layers of everyday routines and societal expectations. But once unearthed, they can illuminate our path and guide us towards fulfillment.

I want to dive deep into a topic that has been a significant part of my personal journey: understanding our motivations and uncovering the driving forces behind our actions.

Self-Discovery through 7 Levels Deep

I want to share with you a story about realization and growth. For the longest time, I felt like I was floating aimlessly, lacking a sense of purpose or direction. It wasn’t until I embarked on a journey of self-discovery that things started to become clear.

I always thought that I wasn’t good at anything but it was only when I gave myself permission to be great at something that I started to shine. I also began to recognize that it’s totally okay to not know what I want to do or what I’m good at just yet but it doesn’t mean I’m never going to be good at anything.

A powerful tool – 7 Levels Deep Exercise by Joe Stump – has helped me peel away the layers of my superficial desires and unearth my true motivations. This exercise involves asking yourself a series of questions, each probing deeper into the core of your desires and aspirations.

The first level was “what do I want to do?”. The answer to this question was clear to me. I wanted to create a global platform where I could help individuals to uncover their innate strengths and use their authenticity to create a life they love.

Then the second question was “why is that important to me?”. I answered this by saying, “I feel called to help others and I really want to share what I have learned to help other people earlier on in life.”

I asked myself again “why is it important for me to help people earlier on in their lives?” and my answer was “It’s important to me because I feel that I could have benefited from this knowledge at a much earlier age and would be further ahead than I am now.  So I want to help others have this awareness at an earlier age.”

Going for another level deep, I asked myself again, “why is that important to me?” I answered, “This is important to me because I sometimes feel as though I spent the first 15 years of my adult life going in circles when I could have been going forward and creating a better life for my family sooner.”

Going a little further, I asked myself again “why is that important to me?” This is where I took a pause as memories began to surface—a moment from my past that held profound significance. One memory, in particular, stood out—a conversation with my mother on the phone when I was 18 and told her I was pregnant. Her words, though spoken years ago, carried a weight I hadn’t fully grasped until now. To answer that question, I said “Because when I was 18, my mom saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself.” Specific to this, she told me that I was the one that she thought would make something of myself and it had not occurred to me in 20 years that I was carrying that with me all this time. I knew she was right. I have to prove her right that I was the one.

So, my answer to the next question “why is that important to me?” was “It’s important to me because I know she was right that I’m the one and I will make something of myself.”

Then the last level of deepness “why is that important to me? I answered, “It’s important to me now in this time and space because I am now truly aware that I’m limitless, and I know that I can not only make something of myself, but I can help others to do the same.  And that’s what I’m doing here. That is what I’m passionate about.”

Taking Action on the “Why”

With each level of questioning, I peeled back another layer of my subconscious, inching closer to my true why. It wasn’t until I reached the core that I unearthed a profound realization—my mother’s belief in me had been silently guiding me all along.

Since then, it has been years of working on myself. Years of improving my mindset, my emotions and my impulses. And I can see it. I believe I will get there.

I also think that we all are meant for more. We are all here to do something great. What is it for you? Now is the time to figure that out. What is it that you’re passionate about? What’s motivating you to do something new?

Our why will be the driving force that will allow us to accomplish anything in life. By knowing why we’re doing something, we’re going to be much more successful. Simon Sinek talks about this all the time “knowing our why, finding out our why”.

Amy Porterfield, a marketing genius who helps people create online courses, always says “If something’s not working, it’s time to DSD (do something different)”. If your current actions are not leading you to your desired destination, it’s imperative to make a change. This could involve making small adjustments or adopting new habits in your daily routine, as even minor changes can have a significant impact over time due to the cumulative effects they bring.

I want to leave you with a profound reminder – you are meant for more. Trust in your unique journey, embrace your true motivations, and step boldly into the life you were destined to live.

If you ever find yourself adrift, questioning your purpose and passion, I encourage you to embark on your own journey of self-discovery. The 7 Levels Deep exercise is just one tool among many that can help you uncover your true motivations and ignite your path forward.

I believe that each of us holds within us the potential for greatness just waiting to be unleashed.

Thank you for joining me on this exploration of passion and motivation. Until next time, stay curious, stay inspired, and never stop seeking to learn more about yourself and the world around you. Cheers to the journey ahead!
